Facing an unknown future

Holy God, in whom we live and move and have our being,
Guide our nation in the days and months ahead
to walk the paths of peace and reconciliation.
Give to our leaders wisdom and sensitivity
to work for unity and the common good.
Mend broken relationships
and restore to wholeness whatever has been damaged by heated debate. Sustain and support the anxious and fearful
and lift up all who are dejected.
Lord our God, accept the prayers of your people
and in your mercy look with compassion upon our nation,
for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This week at St Marys

A busy week coming up – tonight our PCC meet at the vicarage. On Thursday after our regular communion service, at 10:30 am we are hosting the Deanery ‘wave of prayer’  in the church, and later that day have our ‘Tunes and Spoons’ event at 7pm in the church centre. On Saturday Richard and Louise are to be married at 12:00, and on Sunday we welcome Bishop James who will be confirming 10 children and adults. Following the service we share together in a celebration meal in the centre, and later at 3pm Bishop James will be speaking at ‘Pentecost in the Park’ in Barrow park.

Tomorrow at St Marys our guest preacher is Julie at both 8am and 10am, and at 10am we will also be celebrating the baptism of Samantha during the service, as she prepares for her confirmation next week. Do come and support Sam as she takes this important step of commitment.
