This Sunday 20th November

This Sunday at St Marys at our 8am and 10am services we will be thinking about leadership, both good and bad – with reference to contemporary issues in the world. (You can probably guess what they are!). Later at 3-5pm is our last Messy Church of the year which has an advent theme. The action songs will help you keep warm in this cold weather 😉

Harvest Festival 2!

harvest-festival-2

Harvest services and activities at St Marys: Tomorrow at 8am and 10am we gather in all donations and reflect on how we can be thankful and set free from the worries that so often consume us.

At 2pm we welcome the families of Lily Elliot and Penelope Jaggers for their christening, then at 3pm its the ecumenical open air Harvest celebration at Earnse Bay where we will be joined by Dalton town band for some traditional harvest hymns.

On Monday at 6pm in St Marys centre we join together in the ecumenical Harvest meal, followed by the auction of fresh produce – come and grab some great bargains of lovely fruit and veg. As always cans and packets will go to the foodbank, and proceeds from the auction to Christian Aid.

Harvest Festival

Don’t forget its Harvest Festival on Sunday – please bring along your fruit and veg so we can have a great display. Next Monday at 6pm in St Mary’s church centre is our Harvest Meal and auction – always a fun event and proceeds as always to Christian Aid.

This Weekend

rings

Today I’m looking forward to conducting the wedding of Tony and Raine at St Johns, and tomorrow at St Mary’s we have our usual quiet 8am communion service followed by the baptism of Lexi and Myles at 10. At both services we will be reflecting on how the truth can set us free.

Tomorrow’s schedule

tomorrowTomorrow at St Marys we have a quiet communion service at 8am and at 10 am our all-age communion. At both we will be reflecting on the thorny issues of money and work/life balance. I will then be moving over to St Johns on Barrow Island to conduct the baptism of Alice Grace Myerscough, and later at 3-5pm is Messy Church in St Marys centre where our theme will be thankfulness. It would be great to see you!
